“Hous Segen” hooked rug copyright, Sunnie Andress 2007
This was a fun rug to hook with the deep colours and whimsical angels! I love to study the books and magazines geared to stitchery, needlepoint, painting, fraktur, samplers and antique furniture. The books on quilting and patchwork are great too…lots of colour and theme ideas!!
Another good source for ideas, if you want to design your own rugs, are Dover books. They have copyright-free illustrations of many things that you can incorporate into your rugs or can use as inspiration for your own drawings. In using designs from the public domain or permission-free designs, you don’t have to worry about infringing upon someone’s copyright! Of course, there are lots of wonderful designers out there and you can purchase patterns from them too!!!! LOL
Happy Saturday! We got more snow last night so everything is beautiful and sparkling white again here in Vermont!
