New Hooked Rug – Day 5 ~Helen’s Tapestry

I worked a bit more on the backgrounds , the deer and the larger “cat” that I think is supposed to be a tiger!!  LOL  I think the face looks like a bear…but I can see if I can rework it to be more “catlike”!  LOL  Unfortunately, when you try to put in a couple of tiny facial lines, you get a kind of “blob”!!!  Maybe I can fix it.  It’s a good thing my hair is diffiicult to pull out!!!!!  LOL

I am trying to simplify the pattern as I go but I think the most disappointing thing about having the pattern on the wrong backing is that you can’t get much detail in anything!  Facial features of the animals are almost impossible!!!   If this pattern had larger images…you could hook it in #4 & #5 cuts and still have a lot of detail.   : )

We had a beautiful summer day today!!  Hooray!!!

  1. Good Morning Sunnie! He’s a nice looking cat for sure ~ his face looks pretty sweet for a big old tiger (well, maybe he’s not old)!! I don’t envy you trying to get detail in where it’s hardly possible. Hang on to that hair, girl! Have a good hooking day!
