New Hooked Rug – Day 10 ~Helen’s Tapestry

As you can see, I’m filling in backgrounds and adjusting the ferns, leaves and flowers, etc.  I’ll redesign some more as I go but will hook some “experiments” first and then see if they help balance the rug!  : )

I also tried hooking the leaping rabbit…but it is really difficult to get any detail with him!  After I have a chance to sit and look at it for awhile, I’ll see if he looks alright.  (I’d really like him to stay…but if he just looks like a “blob”, he’s better off gone!!!!!!!!!)  : )

Sometimes we just have to try something and look at it awhile!!!  There are times when a motif looks out of place or doesn’t seem right until we get the surrounding area hooked!  So we’ll see about the rabbit after I get the parts around it hooked!!!

Happy Monday!  : )

I am a folk artist now living in Vancouver, Washington. We loved our Vermont "Old Crow Farm" but now I live in a little cottage with a bright yellow front door! I no longer have my business but still love designing and hooking rugs and experimenting with colour...! I do "mystery rugs" on my Blog and that is great fun!

  1. I scrolled down to see what Mr. Bunny looked like on the pattern before he was hooked. He does look a little more “rotund” now that he’s hooked but he’s still very recognizeable as a bunny.

I’m still loving each and every thing about this rug.
