New Hooked Rug – Day 39 ~ Helen’s Tapestry

As I looked at the rug today, I thought I’d better draw the rest of the border for the next day or so…so I wouldn’t forget my measurements and which paper templates I am using for which sections!!!!  It’s so easy to lose the little paper shapes!!!! : )

Also, with a brain addled by wool dust, you know I might forget what I am doing!!!!  LOL : )

It is good to at least outline the shapes so I get a sense of the colour all around the rug!  I’ll put in a special shape in the middle of the side borders…but it isn’t necessary yet!  ; )

My other large rug is coming along too…very different in feeling from this rug.  Much more primitive and whimsical!!

I am a folk artist now living in Vancouver, Washington. We loved our Vermont "Old Crow Farm" but now I live in a little cottage with a bright yellow front door! I no longer have my business but still love designing and hooking rugs and experimenting with colour...! I do "mystery rugs" on my Blog and that is great fun!
