I am a folk artist now living in Vancouver, Washington. We loved our Vermont "Old Crow Farm" but now I live in a little cottage with a bright yellow front door! I no longer have my business but still love designing and hooking rugs and experimenting with colour...! I do "mystery rugs" on my Blog and that is great fun!

  1. Thanks, Debbie…I’m glad you are with me on this one!!!!! : )

I know that whimsy and humor…and especially wildly goofy designs in quilts, rugs, paintings, etc. can be looked at as “trivial” or somehow not comparable to more “serious” work!

But I agree that laughter and fun DO have a place in our lives…and I think including some of these funny designs in our art and craft work helps us stretch and grow. After all, the challenges of colour choices and of hooking techniques, etc. are the same on a humorous rug as on a serious one! : )

I loved doing the Bradley Primitive rug and the Helen’s Tapestry rug…more “serious” work (!!!) LOL But it is when I let my facetious side out to grow, let my creative side out to do original designs and celebrate the merry moments of life that I feel most alive and in my own element!!! When we have a sense of humor and can see the funny side of day-to-day living…I think we are happier people.

    WaHoo, Hooray, Yippity, Skippity!!! LOL
