Sunnie’s New Hooked Rug-The Shepherdess

I have started on another 14 x 20 inch hooked rug with another peaceful scene.  I will be using similar colours on this one as I want to have it compliment the larger rug “Remember Me”…just as the last one did.

I hooked a larger rug featuring a shepherdess like this one several years ago.  It was called “B-is for Bountiful Harvest” and is one of my alphabet series of shepherdess rugs.  (I do the shepherdess rugs when I get a good idea and they are in no particular order of the alphabet.  I’ve done A and B)

Here is the start…

This is very primitive so I am making the shepherdess like one of those very early prim dolls with just a hint of eyes, nose and mouth.  The sheep are done a little differently from the earlier rug…I do them both ways and both are primitive.  Not much detail…just the idea of a sheep!!!!!  LOL

I need to tweak her staff…it looks like a snake instead of a wooden staff!!!!  : )

As you can see…the sheep are pretty well behaved and the shepherdess is just relaxing and enjoying the “country experience” (as we say nowdays!!!) LOL

Happy Hooking!  Sunnie  : )

I am a folk artist now living in Vancouver, Washington. We loved our Vermont "Old Crow Farm" but now I live in a little cottage with a bright yellow front door! I no longer have my business but still love designing and hooking rugs and experimenting with colour...! I do "mystery rugs" on my Blog and that is great fun!
