Happy Monday! With only a little time to hook yesterday I did manage to finish the Autumn Block! Hooray! ; )
So two blocks down, two to go!!!
Just a note…When doing something like this, a long narrow piece or a small piece with a center and a border, I almost always steam the finished part before going on to the next part or to the border. For me, it just makes the hooking easier and I can see if I need to fix something that is not hooked at the same height or needs adjustment. Maybe it’s just a quirk of mine! 🙂
Just a note…when visiting Gene Shepherd’s blog today (see my Blog list ) I saw that he had a great picture of his light table! I love my light table for transferring patterns to linen backing and I thought you might like to see mine. It is not as sophisticated as Gene’s (!!!) but it works great for me! Here it is…
It is a cheap table that I bought on sale. I asked my husband to cut out the center, put in some supports and then put a piece of plexiglass in the middle. (glass might have been too heavy and too expensive for me) ….. I then used a little pine bench underneath and used three clip-on lights, also not expensive. The table is good for holding my three cutters too…I use the cutters more than I use the light table, so it is a multi-purpose item! I can also lay out wools on it, sort things, and I lean a covered board against it to sit back and look at my work from a distance!! : ) Hope this helps if you want to do a light table for yourself.
I’m off to more bookwork! Happy Hooking! Sunnie 😉
Sunnie, I’ve been following your progress yesterday but got interrupted in the middle of my comment and it never got finished, just like my rug. lol…
You’re doing a neat job on that banner.
As farmers we get to do our income tax much later but I still have filing office work to do almost daily. I’m not fond of office work. I much prefer working with my hands.
It’s very cold here this morning and I had to thaw my metal water connections at the sink to feed my calves. Hugs, JB
It’s looking good!! Love your progress reports!!
Thank you, ladies…I’m having fun, as always!!!!! : ) These simple projects are very pleasant…using up leftovers, choosing from few colours!!! No big colour-planning sessions, worries about not having enough wool or concerns about what you are hooking becoming a masterpiece!!! LOL 🙂 Just a little piece for a blank wall in a mud room!!!! The cat will be amused!!! LOL
Happy Hooking! Sunnie 🙂
