New Mystery Rug-TYF/Day 1 – Sunnie/Rug Hooking

Happy Wednesday…and away we go on the new Mystery Rug TYF.  🙂

The Title of this piece starts with the letters “TYF” and I was thinking about my childhood  and some of my relatives when deciding to do this piece.  Again, I am using the 24 x 24 format to narrow the focus and experiment…and I am using as many leftover strips as I can!  🙂

With all those hints…you’ll guess it right away!!!!  LOL

I wanted to use this background wool…so I chose it first, even before deciding upon my final design.  As you know, if you have followed any of the rugs I’ve done on the Blog before, I usually just start with one or two colours of wool and then go with the flow!!!  I don’t figure out the colours beforehand because I like to be surprised!  Sometimes, I use a wool simply because I want to see what it looks like hooked up…and many times, it fits right in!!!!!  LOL

Here is the background wool…I lightened the picture so you can see the colours in it better…but it really is dark.

And…Tah Dah (!!!)…Here is Mystery TYF – Day 1

What a thrilling picture!!!!!    We’re on our way!!!!!  Have a great day…looks like snow here in the Kingdom this morning!  Happy Hooking!  Sunnie   😉

I am a folk artist now living in Vancouver, Washington. We loved our Vermont "Old Crow Farm" but now I live in a little cottage with a bright yellow front door! I no longer have my business but still love designing and hooking rugs and experimenting with colour...! I do "mystery rugs" on my Blog and that is great fun!
