Rug Hooking from Oregon/Sunnie/hooked rugs/New Work coming! :)

I had such fun with the last “deworming” rug and I hope you have at least found some helpful things to do with your own leftover small pieces of wool and worms!!!  🙂

I have a couple of things I want to do next so I’ll take a few days to gather things together and then we’ll see where we go with rug hooking in April..!  LOL   Since I have now done 2 rugs using almost all leftovers (except for the runner background) I think I will do something different and return to my usual way of hooking!   I usually DO use some leftovers in each rug…but being constrained by the focus on leftovers is sometimes tiring!!!!!   LOL

So we’ll see what develops!

I still have several ideas for using up those worms (!!) so I could always do a small piece or a chairpad, etc. just for fun!!!   After all, I am still enjoying the GREAT STASH DEWORMING MARATHON group on Rug Hooking Daily!   Come join us if you want to enjoy diminishing your leftover wool pieces.

Have a great weekend and I might be ready to start something on Monday…!   Happy Hooking!   Sunnie  🙂

I am a folk artist now living in Vancouver, Washington. We loved our Vermont "Old Crow Farm" but now I live in a little cottage with a bright yellow front door! I no longer have my business but still love designing and hooking rugs and experimenting with colour...! I do "mystery rugs" on my Blog and that is great fun!

  1. Sunnie, with the way you’ve been hooking lately, you sure deserve a rest from deworming…

I’ve cleaned out the rest of my frayed and too thin worms and cleaned my hooking room and I can see a huge difference with the bunch of empty little snack Ziplock bags in my basket. If I need to cut worms for my rug, I use my Rotory cutter one strip at a time so I don’t add to my stash.

    Have a HAPPY WEEKEND.

  2. I’m going to try to cut only a few strips too, Julia, so I won’t add to my stash of leftovers!!! LOL I am really glad to have used up a lot of them…it is so much easier to find what I want and I like being organized..!!! As I’ve said, I am also Spring cleaning and that gives me a good feeling too!!!!
    Hugs, Sunnie 🙂

  3. Thank you, Robbie…I am always having fun with these designs! It is great to have something that brings art and craft into your life…of course, nature does that for us every day!!! Cheers! Sunnie 🙂

  4. Hi Sunnie, Happy April… no fooling….a primitive sounds nice. One of my blog followers hooked that lion pattern last year and she did a magnificent job as I know you will too with your adaptation.

I’m almost done hooking my last chair pad. With two big snow storms side by side I got a lot of hooking time in.

    Hugs,
    JB
