New Halloween Rug-2016-Sunnie/rug hooking/using leftovers/hooked rugs-Day 9

Hooray!   I had a lot of time to hook yesterday and am about 2/3 of the way to the finish…!

We are now meeting 2 of the three friends who are celebrating both the wonderful month of October and the fun Halloween Holiday!   As I’ve said, using leftovers in these rugs makes sense because anything goes in a Halloween rug!   Costumes and motifs can be as wild as possible and they fit right in!    🙂

Also, ugly colours work fine too!!!!!   I’ll be adding more confetti to the background too.

This rug size is about 30 x 26…so it is not a tiny rug.   When I first thought about using the little drawing I thought of making a pillow to go on my sofa in October.   But the idea of a larger rug appealed to me and when I decided on the banner, the whole figures could be hooked.   I’m glad I decided on the larger rug because I am having such fun using the leftover woolworms!!!!

And nothing like having black and white striped socks and tights to complete the festive look…!

So here is Progress on Day 9…Happy Hooking!   Sunnie  🙂

I am a folk artist now living in Vancouver, Washington. We loved our Vermont "Old Crow Farm" but now I live in a little cottage with a bright yellow front door! I no longer have my business but still love designing and hooking rugs and experimenting with colour...! I do "mystery rugs" on my Blog and that is great fun!
