New Mystery Rug-“FO”-Nov 2016/Sunnie/rug hooking/hooked rugs-Day 2

Here we go on Day 2…!

I am doing some experimenting with hooking other things into this piece, different fabrics besides wool and I’ll try out some gold or silver ribbon or cord to see if that looks good.   🙂

You might remember this piece I hooked many years ago when I led a “Seasons” challenge on RHDaily.

The silver line around the blue wool on the neckline petals is silver cording…very narrow and flexible.   Since I was working in primitive colours and mostly in a #8 cut at the time, this rug was a departure for me in many ways.   I actually used a Dover picture of a vase of flowers, took off the top of the vase and drew an elf body.   Then I changed the legs of the vase to elf legs!   This one was really fun.

So here is Progress on Day 2 of the “FO”…I know these first pictures are really helpful for you to see what I am actually hooking!!!!!   🙂

Happy Hooking!   Sunnie   🙂

I am a folk artist now living in Vancouver, Washington. We loved our Vermont "Old Crow Farm" but now I live in a little cottage with a bright yellow front door! I no longer have my business but still love designing and hooking rugs and experimenting with colour...! I do "mystery rugs" on my Blog and that is great fun!
