Lady Nesta Birdwhistle-Mystery 2018-Sunnie/rug hooking/hooked rugs/folk art-Day 4

Quick post today…Hooking-at-my-House day!!!   🙂

I find hooking the background in straight lines to be rather boring (!!!) but it adds another bit of silliness to the rug.   Remember when I said that the sky should be a beautiful blue…I decided to use the gray plaid because hooking it in straight vertical lines has the suggestion of rain…just what we Don’t Want on a Garden Party Day!!!!!   …lol…

The Lady Nesta article continues with paragraph 2:

********************************************************

“….With photographers and reporters flocking around her, she elegantly stepped across the deliciously rounded lawn towards the magnificent Vulture Gazebo…the center of the festivities.”………(to be continued)

********************************************************

Now we all will have to have our own vision of the “magnificent Vulture Gazebo” mentioned because it is not shown in this piece!   But I have a vision of it and it makes me smile every day!!!!!   🙂

Here is Day 4 Progress as I work my way from right to left across the rug…and I still haven’t chosen Lady Nesta’s colours (!!!) but I’ll have to start…maybe later today.   Happy Hooking!   Sunnie   🙂

I am a folk artist now living in Vancouver, Washington. We loved our Vermont "Old Crow Farm" but now I live in a little cottage with a bright yellow front door! I no longer have my business but still love designing and hooking rugs and experimenting with colour...! I do "mystery rugs" on my Blog and that is great fun!

  1. Now the grey background makes sense. I would have never thought of that. The party must go on. lol.
    A very intriguing story.
    Hugs, Julia

  2. Yep…the show must go on, rain or shine…and I can just see all those elegant ladies at the Garden Party crowded into the “Vulture Gazebo”!!!!!!! I should have included an umbrella somewhere in the mix!!! …lol… Hugs, Sunnie 🙂
