Lady Nesta Birdwhistle-2018 mystery-Sunnie/rug hooking/ hooked rugs/folk art-Day 5

Outside gardening all day yesterday so did not make much progress on Lady Nesta!!!!!   🙂

However, I have chosen some blues and greens plus whites and accents for her colours and am starting hooking her “feathers” with those…plus I hooked one of her “accessories”!!!!   …lol…

And we continue the article:

“…Looking gorgeous and impressive as always, Lady Nesta is wearing a breathtaking hat from that fabulous designer, Lotta Tweets.   She carries a magnificent fashion bag from that thrilling young bag creator, Iva Wing, whose work will certainly soar to new heights because of Lady Nesta’s patronage.”….(to be continued)

We’ll have to wait awhile to see the “breathtaking hat” and more of Lady Nesta…(she has a Lot of feathers being such a big bird!!!!!!)   (Trying out buttons, etc. for her “magnificent bag”!!!   …lol…)

So here is Progess on Day 5…Happy Hooking!   Sunnie   🙂

I am a folk artist now living in Vancouver, Washington. We loved our Vermont "Old Crow Farm" but now I live in a little cottage with a bright yellow front door! I no longer have my business but still love designing and hooking rugs and experimenting with colour...! I do "mystery rugs" on my Blog and that is great fun!

  1. Oh Sunnie, I’m laughing already. Keep up the good work.
I pulled a few hoops but very little. I’ve been trying to organize my husband’s tools and supplies in the garage. I organized the drawers once but he never returns the tools in their proper drawer and then can’t find anything and buys more. Can you imagine the piles of tools after 52 years? Things like 6 measuring tapes, 7 hammers, etc. He is a hopeless case. lol…Maybe there’s a rug in there somewhere. lol.

  2. Julia, this piece makes me laugh every time I sit down to work on it. 🙂 However, these things bring me a lot of enjoyment…and that is so nice for me!!! I am glad others get a laugh out of them too!!!
I can see your husband’s head and shoulders emerging from a tool box in the middle of the rug and lots and lots and lots of tools (including the 7 hammers) in the “air” around him!! …lol… Title: “Dear, Have You Seen My Hammer?”
    Hugs, Sunnie 🙂

  3. Thanks Elaine…I am actually enjoying the experiments while I am laughing!!!!! However, the straight vertical line background hooking seems very tedious…I am used to hooking in curving lines for backgrounds or “echo” lines around motifs so the straight lines are a bit boring!!!! …lol… But the suggestion of rain for a Garden Party was too good to pass up!!!!! 🙂
